NanciNet Meets James Hooker

Nanci's BusAt some point on Sunday afternoon, the word went through our troupe: Nanci's bus is here! Intrepid reporter and fan that he is, Bill Peete headed over to scope out the scene. Nanci apparently arrived separately, so Bill didn't get in any paparazi practice, but he did snap a picture of the big ol' bus. Don't know anything about the van. We were all psyched at the approach of the evening's show.

NanciNuts Under the Nanci Tree

James HookerAt dinner time, we NanciNetters got the chance to meet James Hooker, that guy who writes music with and plays the keyboards for Nanci Griffith, and who also has a new album of his own (plug, plug, plug).

James chatted with us under a tree while a few folks in the background tried to figure out what was going on. James was most gracious, and spent a good long time with us. He even flagged down BMO bass player Ron de la Vega, who stopped to say hello.

You may be able to see that James wears a button on his baseball cap. It's John Alvord's NanciNet button. Yay!! If you haven't seen or ordered a button from John, check out the NanciNet page.

NanciNetters with James HookerHere we are, chatting it up with James. From left to right: Sue Peete, Mark Ferguson, James Hooker, Laura Ferguson, Shelly Brisbin (back of my head), ?, Deb Thornton, ?, ?,?. If you can fill in the question marks, send me some mail.
