July 28, 2010 – Interesting. And yet, I can’t help but be annoyed by the idea of some dude organizing musical thoughts around what women like. Have you ever seen a tome discussing how men-all of them, as a group- appreciate music? Didn’t think so.

July 26, 2010 – Twenty years ago, on the day this law was signed, I was on a plane, headed for the most important job interview of my life. I was a little more confident, if only because the important issue of equal access was on people’s minds that day. And yes, I got the job.
July 25, 2010 – I have a theory that transcendent camp experiences (good or bad) are much more an east coast thing. Most of the people who write about camp seem to have spent time in the Berkshires or Adirondacks. Even the term “sleep away camp” is completely unfamiliar to me. I went to camps several times as kid, but I can’t say that they shaped my adult self in a profound way. Maybe my camps were just more laid-back.

July 22, 2010 – Know what I love about this story (aside from the needlessly provocative headline)? I love how the lead assumes cell phone users are violating our local ordinance disallowing talking while driving. No wink wink, just a statement.
July 21, 2010 – Just an observation from me: I’ve been extremely busy with work this week, and haven’t followed political news at all. So just like when I’m on vacation, these little dustups that seem oh so important when you’re following along, feel really different when you’re trying to catch up after three or five days. Different, and really hyperbolic.
Food for thought. Maybe we should only read political news a couple times a week.
