Shelly Brisbin's life consists of several long tails. She writes about them here.
September 18, 2010 – Hey Shelly: what do you read when you’re not reading media criticism, thoughtful political blogs, cocktail sites, and Icanhazcheezburger?
September 17, 2010 – As a non-football fan, I love reading these bits each week. Texas Tech fans, BTW, are famous for having yanked their own goal post out of the ground to celebrate a win.
September 17, 2010 – Watched this with my mom when I was a kid. I even remember the organ/globe opening. DON’T JUDGE ME!

September 16, 2010 – Ms. O’Donnell has already found her way into pop culture, including not a few Facebook status updates from friends of mine who don’t follow politics. It would be odd indeed if this woman’s unbending attitude toward sexual purity, and English paper-level analysis of “Lord of the Rings” were the things that finally shocked the larger culture into some sort of understanding that the Tea Party Senate candidates are a fringy lot.
September 15, 2010 – Shared mostly for the opening graf. I’ve written before about the vast difference between the way a story appears when you follow it daily, versus the way the facts and arguments organize themselves when you have taken an extended break from “the news cycle”. September 14, 2010 – Now we’re gettng somewhere. Thank you, Explainer.
September 14, 2010 – Um, why would Steve want to carry ninja stars on his plane?
September 14, 2010 – Interesting
September 14, 2010 – Oh, governor Rick, you have such a way with words. I’m assuming that you are not counting on the disabled vote this November. It’s a common expression, I know, and one that always gives me a laugh because it makes no sense.
September 13, 2010 – Why anyone still listens to Newt Gingrich is beyond me.
September 12, 2010 – I have a question: Is it ever a “fairytale” win for a male player? Because I’m pretty sure Miss Clijsters worked her ass off to achieve victory.
September 12, 2010 – GREAT hurricane name. Austin just got flooded by Hermine, and bypassed by Earl. Igor would make far better headlines.
September 12, 2010 – Probably in the category of things only I am interested in. but still…
September 11, 2010 – This trend has bothered me for awhile now.

September 10, 2010 – I love stories like these. Random questions that often occur to me.
September 10, 2010 – I rarely go to google.com. Don’t most people use the search bar in their browsers?
September 9, 2010 – Lately I’ve taken to reading Apple commentary both from the tech press, and from the members of the press who appear to be more watchful over freedom of expression. I find the mix is intellectually interesting, and I highly recommend it.
