June 5, 2010 – I often write critical things about the press’ obsession with every word and deed of Sarah Palin. But this is a smart article that explains the actions of politicians not as stages in a horse race, but moves on a chess board, or perhaps behind the line of scrimmage, if putting Palin and chess in the same sentence makes you uncomfortable.

June 5, 2010 – This looks almost identical to the cherry vanilla bitters recipe I used a couple of years ago. Turned out really well. I need to make more.

June 4, 2010 – Y’know, I had no idea The Golden Girls was held in such high regard until its stars began dying, or experiencing renewed fame. My mom liked the show, and it seemed to be on a lot when I went to visit her. But I was sort of lukewarm to it. I found it far lsss interesting than the work its cast members had done before GG.So here’s my random question to ponder. Is The Golden Girls remembered fondly today because it’s a really good show that gave older actresses a chance to shine, or is it yet more nostalgia (from people younger than me!) for anything that happened between 1980 and 1990?
