for politicians, this is a smart method of communication, and its novelty makes it interesting. As a voter, I wouldn’t even mind it (I’ll probably watch the video later), were it not for the “virtual town hall” spin of the article. this is not a virtual town hall. It’s a conversation, an ad, a chance to get some free media. But it is not, and should not be confused with, an opportunity for citizens to communicate directly with their elected officials.
Too often, journalists admire good political practice, and pay less attention to its impact on the electorate and, once these guys get into office, the public at large.
