October 14, 2010 – I am sometimes sensitive to uneducated word choice. But even as someone who cringes when words like “touching” and “courage” are used in connection with disabled people, I have to say the author is right. Over-parsing of words, especially when the substance of the comments is honorable, has a lot to do with what’s wrong with political discourse.
