December 8, 2010 – It’s certainly a problem if scientists, journalists, and other professionals who deal in facts and the analysis of information, are drawn to one political party over the other. The problem belongs to the political party whose policies and appeals are based on emotion, ignorance, and self-interest over-riding truth. It is certainly possible to be a Republican who values facts, and the scientific process as a means of learning the truth, but we have seen almost none of that in the past ten years.
