As I wrote to a friend in email last night, Shelly is a pack rat. Yes, I did write it in the third person. I was trying to be funny.
I do have a little mania about these music samplers, and I have more music than I will be able to listen to in the next month. The mania comes more from the joy of collecting than from the listening. I will find a band or a song that I’m in love with. but that will happen a month from now, when I’m shuffling through the music I’ve collected. So be it.
In case you’re wondering, the samplers and the SXSW showcase files do overlap, but not completely. Plenty of record company samplers include songs other than those submitted to SXSW. So it’s worth digging into collections that feature bands you like, just to see if you’ll find new songs. The overlap rate is actually no more than, say, 25 percent. Don’t hold me to that. It’s a guess!
So here are today’s additions. If you find samplers that I haven’t posted, let me know. Oh, and so far, no one seems to care about the streams, so I’m not going to hunt for them.
