Episod #13 of my show, The Parallel is a roundup of interesting tidbits from Apple’s WWDC. The show features guest appearances from John Panarese and Ken Ray.
Roku added a spoken interface to its video streaming devices. This is good news for blind and print-disabled folks who like the idea of an inexpensive, easy-to-use, full-featured streamer. In this audio demo, I roll through the Audio Guide interface, and show you where it shines, and where it fails. In the course of promoting my book, iOS Access for All, I’ve been invited onto several podcasts. For the most part, these are new opportunities for me, though a few invites came from old friends. I’ll link you to all the shows, but I want to give you reasons to listen to specific ones, since they’re so different. Also, if you just can’t get enough of my yammering, subscribe to the All Shelly, All The…

I was honored to join Aleen Sims on episode #89 of her podcast, Less Than or Equal. It’s a great show, where you will meet a wide range of people, many of whom are not among the usual suspects of podcast guests (present company excepted, I guess.) We talked about the reasons accessibility is often invisible in the mainstream tech world, and why I get grumpy when I read (or don’t read) about accessibility in…

You, dear reader, are used to seeing plugs for my podcast appearances here. That is a somewhat boring way to use a perfectly good blog, but I do like to get the word out, and I sometimes forget to post. I’m trying a new thing: a meter feed of podcasts on which I appear. You can subscribe to the feed, or to individual shows, which would be the more normal way to consume the noise…

I had a great time making a new episode of The Parallel, with awesome guests Jason Snell and Joe Steinkamp. We chat about one of my favorite subjects, the art (or craft) of podcasting itself. How very meta of us.
Time for another podcast appearance update. I’ve been doing a lot of recording. Maccesibility Roundtable covers iWork, Apple earnings, Apple TV, and new Apple hardware and software, in recent episodes. This week, I joined the Clockwise crew for a bit of a chat about the iPad Pro, Mac App Store glitches, and the demise of RDio. Last but not least, I have been doing a little project in celebration of NaPodPoMo. Or as I like to call…
My friends at Apple, for I must surely call any organization that has taken so much of my money in exchanged for shiny objects a friend, announced a lot of new shiny objects this week. And so, I podcasted about them on my own show, on a show where I’m a regular, and as a guest on someone else’s show. Minimum show length? 1 hour. That’s the one I produced and edited. You’re welcome! But…

Dan Moren and Jason Snell were kind enough to invite me back on the Clockwise podcast for episode #102. Most of today’s topics come down to Apple in the entertainment realm. I also got to plug The Parallel to a new audience. Instead of recording the Maccessibility Roundtable as usual tomorrow, we will do a show immediately after Tim Cook and company reveal their secrets, next Wednesday. So join us on the stream, and on Twitter with…
